I can tell, By your eyes, That you're, Not alone,
Hidin', Behind, Your bolted door.
And 'though, You think, That you're, Hurting me,
Sweet Suzanne, It's hurting, You more.

Well I can see, By your face, That you've, Been afraid,
Hidin', Inside, Your stubborn mind,
And 'though, You're sure, That you've, Got the key,
Sweet Suzanne, It's you, More than me.

Well, You came to me with daylight,
Just shinin' through your heart,
Said you'd got a bad knife,
And he cut you, All apart, Oh,
Said, "Can't we patch it up now?
Don't you think there is a way?"
I said 'No' to you baby.
You wouldn't hear a word I'd say.
You just painted me with laughter,
Lord you left me, There to die.
Yeah, But on the morning after, baby,
When that color dried,
you woke up to look for me,
Yeah, But you, Found me gone.
It's all over but the cryin' now.

I really, Used to love you, But I don't, Remember when.
Hard times, Honey, bad times, Been here since then,
Yes they have, And 'though, You really hurt me,
Lord knows I, Nearly died, Well I couldn't hurt you baby,
'Cause I tried, And tried and tried.

Well, You came to me with midnight,
Just drippin' from your soul,
Said you got a bad gun,
And he shot you, Full of holes.
Oh, Said, "Baby, can't you doctor me now?
Oh! Can't you put something inside?"
I said 'No' to you baby.
It was the truth, But you denied.
You just, Painted me with laughter.
Lord, you left me, Left me, Left me there to die.
Yeah, but on the morning after baby,
When that color dried,
And you woke up to look for me,
Yeah, but you found me gone.
It's all over but the cryin' now.
All over but the cryin' now.

In Asia, on the back of a music book, was a 12-bar blues chord progression. I bastardized it's irresistible tones, got a Lyric going, and couldn't quit. I still enjoy playing it.
