Like birds of a feather,
We'll flock together,
You And I. You And I.
I know I said, 'Never,'
'Cause I never thought I'd ever
See you fly, See you fly.

Meet me babe at the top of the trees.
I'll fly to you. No! You fly to me.
Like birds of a feather,
We're gonna' flock together someday.

Like birds on a wire,
We'll sing in the choir,
You And I. You And I.
I doubted your word.
You made me a liar.
You can fly! You can fly!

You fly above clouds, Out over the sea.
I'll sing for you if you'll sing to me.
Like birds on a wire,
We gonna' sing in the choir someday.

I've been in love with you since you were an egg.
I love you more for your skinny bird legs.
We're out on a limb! It's up in the air!
I'm cuckoo for you, But you don't care,
That we're birds of a feather.
We're gonna; get together someday.

I'm a little bit chicken.
My heart quickens,
When we fly, You And I.
I want to fly south
with your song in my mouth.
You And I! We can fly!

I'll meet you down along the Amazon.
We'll while away the days 'til the winter is gone.
Like birds of a feather, We're gonna' flock together,
You And I. You And I.
Like birds of a feather, We're gonna' flock together,
Someday
Like birds of a feather, We'll flock together, You And I.

My friend Gail challenged us all to write a song about birds. On Alexandria Point where the Scioto River empties into the Mighty Ohio I was strumming, watching birds, and got "You And I."
