Love Rules,
Where it never used to faze me.
Some fool
Told me I was crazy.
"Be cool
And don't call her 'Baby'.
Love Rules.
Play it cool and maybe
She won't notice
Just what's going on.

"Who me?"
She says just to play me.
Ooo-eee!
I wanna' call her 'Baby'.
You see
No outlaw move could save me.
To be
Or not to be
Maybe
She won't notice just what's going on.

Love Rules.
There's no doubt about it.
How did,
I ever do without it?
I'm gon-
na climb up on the roof and shout it!
Love Rules everything that's going on!
Love Rules everything that's going on!

No specific love, as far as I remember, writing here years later. Unrequited perhaps. Usually was. Must be just a song. Just a rhyme, too, but with clever character interactions implied by the dialogue between the singer and "Some fool..." and the quote of the girl who is the object of the love, "Who me?" Then, as if amazed at himself, the singer realizes, "Ooo-eee, I wanna' call her 'Baby'." just as "Some fool..." presciently warned him not to do. Does love rule everything that's going on? Should it? Ah, what do you know?!
