I don't know if it's something you said,
or something that I heard.
I don't know if it's something I read,
and misunderstood the words.
I can feel Walls Rising!
I can feel Walls Rising!

I don't know if it's only a thought,
Or really something there.
I don't know if it's something I caught,
Or it caught me unaware.
I can hear doors closing!
I can hear doors closing!

I don't really know,
if it was ever there.
All I really know,
is that we are carefully
building fences to keep us apart
II can feel Walls Rising!
I can hear doors closing!
I can see bridges burning!
I can feel Walls Rising!

I don't know if it's Walls Rising up,
or merely dreams that I had.
I don't know if it's been long enough,
or it's been too long instead.
I can see us turning!
I can see us turning!

I don't really know,
If it was ever there.
All I really know,
Is that we are warily,
Stringing wire all across our hearts,

I can feel Walls Rising!
I can see us turning!
I can hear doors closing!
I can see bridges burning!
I can feel Walls Rising!

It was early in my Song-Writing experience, a few years in. I was exploring the possibilities of what a Song could be. This one explored metaphoric ideas, saying something the listener would have to think about to 'get' it, but could easily make sense of, if they wanted.
