I lived in the Hotel Hurth in 1975 while attending college nearby. Someone had gone up to the roof (I'm sure of it) and broken the neon sign so the "EL" of "HOTEL" didn't light up anymore, leaving "HOT." They also disabled the last "H" in "HURTH." "HOT" "HURT." I don't know if it qualifies as a 'rag.' It's a blues riff.
